Ladies Guild

The Ladies Guild is made up of women members who enhance the religious services of the Shul by organizing the weekly Kiddush after the service. There are Kiddushim held every Shabbat which can be sponsored for a small donation. Special enhanced Kiddushim can also be sponsored to mark any occasion and can be tailored in size to suit individual requirements.

We decorate the Succah for Succot and the Shul for Shavuot, organise a social event following a community candle lighting for Chanukah and after the Megillah and fancy dress parade on Purim. We have an AGM every spring followed by a special evening meeting. We raise funds to do all this by holding social events.

Membership of the Guild is open to all women members of the Shul at a small charge of £10.00 for a year and there is a committee to ensure the smooth running of events. For further information on membership and having a special Kiddush please contact Andrea Batsman (Chairman), telephone 01895 622059.

WIZO was established in the UK in the 1920’s and today is one of the largest Jewish women’s organisations in Great Britain and Ireland. Ruislip Wizo was formed over forty years ago and although small is an active friendly group.

Events organised during the year might range from coffee mornings, afternoon teas, brunches and lunches, open air theatre visits and museum visits. Funds raised go towards supporting over 100 vital projects across Israel which serve all the communities.
