RUISLIP & BELMONT SYNAGOGUES RAMBLE Sunday 20th Jan 2019

A number of members of Ruislip and Belmont synagogues have been getting together for short rambles – approximately 5 miles. Join us for a friendly walk by contacting our administrator. The next one is on Sunday 20th January.

MEDICAL AND MORAL DILEMMAS FOR JEWS 11th February 2019

Monday 11th February 2019. David Katz is a professor of Immunology at University College London (UCL). He will explain the Jewish ethical issues relating to medicine. Cost £4.00. Full details to follow.

COMMUNAL SEDER 19th April 2019

A communal First Seder will be held on Friday night 19th April 2019. Details will follow nearer the date.

MIND OVER TERROR 12th May 2019

Terrorist attacks can traumatise victims, even where they have not been physically harmed. The talk will explain how these people have been helped after attacks. Rabbi Dov Kurtzman is also a qualified psychiatrist, and he will tell us about his volunteer team that offers emergency response to traumatised victims.

Ruislip Synagogue Social Club

The club meets on Mondays once every fortnight from 12.00 to 15.00. Lunch is provided at cost price. Members and non-members are welcome, but for security reasons, non-members should either contact the office in advance or arrive with a member.

Transforming the mental health landscape

Sunday 13th January at Pinner Synagogue, 7.30 – 9pm, as part of The Mental Health Awareness Shabbat project. Learn about Jami and its services from Head of Services. What are the current major mental health concerns? Mental health issues in children and teenagers. How can our community include and support people with mental health issues?

Wednesday 20th February 2019 8.00pm, Northwood Synagogue. Rebecca singer from World Jewish Relief together with a special interview with Lorraine Gerrard on her late uncle’s life “Who did I think my family were” ?

Escape from Europe

Wednesday 27th march 2019, at Northwood Synagogue – Kurt Wick and his family managed to get on the last boat to shanghai from Europe. Hear about their escape from Europe and how they arrived in Shanghai on the day that war broke out!!! A lucky escape.

Northwood Bridge club

The club meets at Northwood Synagogue at 7.30 – 10.00 pm for Duplicate Bridge. All ages and abilities are welcome. Price £10.00 including refreshments.
The next meeting is on 20th December.

Pinner Games afternoons

The club meets at Pinner Synagogue at 2.30 – 4.30 pm to play Bridge, Kalooki, Scrabble, Chess, Rummicub or any other game that takes your fancy. Entrance fee £1.00.
The next meetings are 10th Dec (Chanukah candle lighting followed by tea and donuts at 4.15pm), and 14th Jan.
